Being away from DC in the Spring makes me miss blue crabs, Malcolm X Park and the DC Dragon Boat Festival.

If you haven’t been, it’s worth checking out. The DC Dragon Boat Festival, with races and cultural performances, is this weekend May 31 – June 1. Dragon boat racing started as far back as 2500 years ago along the banks of the Yangtze River, in the same era that the Greeks were holding their athletic competitions in Olympia.
